# CoBalance

> CoBalance helps divorced and separated parents track shared child expenses and court-ordered child support, keep balances clear, and maintain a court-ready financial record.

CoBalance is a mobile app (iOS and Android) with a marketing and support website at https://cobalance.com. The app is for adults (18+). There is no public API.

- Educational estimates based on each state’s published guidelines
- Private: no account required; entries are sent securely to calculate the estimate and are not stored by CoBalance
- Useful for co-parent planning conversations before or alongside mediation or legal advice

### What these tools are not

- Not official state child support calculators
- Not legal advice, not a court order, and not a substitute for attorney or agency guidance
- Not designed for filing court worksheets (use each state’s official calculator/forms for that)

### Georgia

- Guidelines focus: 2026 Georgia updates, including Parenting Time Adjustment when parenting time is court-ordered
- Typical inputs: number of children, both parents’ gross monthly incomes, court-ordered parenting days (when applicable), health insurance, work-related childcare, optional advanced items (self-employment, preexisting orders, benefit credits)
- Parenting Time Adjustment applies only when the parenting schedule is included in a court order; “no court order yet” is never treated as zero parenting days for PTA

### Alabama

- Regular CS-42 estimates apply a $981 self-support reserve and a presumptive $50 minimum to the paying parent; CS-42-S increases the basic amount by 50% before shared-care credits
- Does not include existing support or alimony deductions, split custody, extraordinary expenses, court deviations, or combined income above the published schedule

- Worksheet B multiplies the basic amount by 1.5, then applies income share, overnight share, and eligible expense credits
- Does not include Worksheet C split custody, existing support or other-child deductions, extraordinary expenses, court deviations, or combined income above the $40,000 monthly schedule

- Does not calculate allowable deductions, imputed income, noncovered medical costs, Social Security credits, different child schedules, court deviations, or retroactive support
